Preparing Those Who Protect Our Nation

2024: A Year of Commitment

Each year, the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium continues its commitment towards addressing the threats of tomorrow. Those threats have already made themselves known. In the first few weeks of 2025, our nation has confronted three significant events. Starting on New Year’s Day with the early morning New Orleans terror attack on Bourbon Street, to the Las Vegas explosion a few hours later on the same day, to the Los Angeles area wildfires, the first week of 2025 has already underscored how vital comprehensive emergency preparedness planning and training truly is. The NDPC’s work providing emergency responders with the necessary education and training to prevent, prepare for, and mitigate manmade or natural disasters plays a critical role in our communities’ safety and security.

In 2024, our NDPC partner organizations worked tirelessly to meet the growing training and emergency response needs of law enforcement, fire, EMS, emergency managers, and other responders around the country. The NDPC strives to provide comprehensive training to maintain a strong, secure nation; this commitment is highlighted through the over six thousand deliveries and more than 271 thousand participants we reached in 2024. However, as the first week of 2025 has indicated, as these threats increase, so must our capabilities.

NDPC’s mission to bring all levels of government, business, and the emergency response community to new degrees of preparedness matters today more than ever. The scope and strengths of capabilities represented by the NDPC ensures entities at the state, local, tribal, and territorial levels receive critical and comprehensive training on relevant and timely threats. As always, the NDPC stands ready to meet American responders’ growing needs, and we will continue to strive to be a leading training partner for our country.
