Each year, the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium continues its commitment towards addressing the threats of tomorrow. Those threats have already made themselves known. In the first few weeks of 2025, our nation has confronted three significant events. Starting on New Year’s Day with the early morning New Orleans terror attack on Bourbon Street, to the Las Vegas explosion a few hours later on the same day, to the Los Angeles area wildfires, the first week of 2025 has already underscored how vital comprehensive emergency preparedness planning and training truly is. The NDPC’s work providing emergency responders with the necessary education and training to prevent, prepare for, and mitigate manmade or natural disasters plays a critical role in our communities’ safety and security.
In 2024, our NDPC partner organizations worked tirelessly to meet the growing training and emergency response needs of law enforcement, fire, EMS, emergency managers, and other responders around the country. The NDPC strives to provide comprehensive training to maintain a strong, secure nation; this commitment is highlighted through the over six thousand deliveries and more than 271 thousand participants we reached in 2024. However, as the first week of 2025 has indicated, as these threats increase, so must our capabilities.
NDPC’s mission to bring all levels of government, business, and the emergency response community to new degrees of preparedness matters today more than ever. The scope and strengths of capabilities represented by the NDPC ensures entities at the state, local, tribal, and territorial levels receive critical and comprehensive training on relevant and timely threats. As always, the NDPC stands ready to meet American responders’ growing needs, and we will continue to strive to be a leading training partner for our country.

In four days the [Securing the Cities] Boston Program got 107 more primary screeners from 18 different agencies over 17 different towns because of your folks. Five of these towns host parts of the Boston Marathon, which is a huge priority for us. Others border the southern part of Boston and/or are responsible for major pathways that lead into Boston. Some of the agencies were completely new to rad/nuc detection and learned quite a bit from your team. The Boston Program wouldn't be where it is without all the support we've gotten from CTOS over the past 18 months - it is much appreciated.
We had a true blend of local, regional, state, federal and non-profit organizations in attendance, which closed critically important training gaps across the board.
We needed to have a training that integrated our fire and police, and this is the first time in the history of our departments that we've done that coordinated class. We weren't working together when training to stop the killing and stop the dying, and that's what LSU NCBRT was able to bring to us.
"As the EOC Section Chief for Planning & Intel for our local jurisdiction, the information learned from this course immediately improved my working knowledge of disaster assessment for the next incident.
I appreciate the great training and strong partnership SERTC has provided for so many of our NE Indiana firefighters and emergency personnel. I also appreciate the Herculean administrative effort it takes to deliver this training, and to ensure this specialized response training continues to be on-target for our communities.
The entirety of the Infrastructure Protection Certificate Program was a great experience. This should be mandatory for all Security Specialist Positions (even D.O.D) as it encompasses all manners of what is encountered and how one should prepare for all-hazards.
OAMP (Oregon Association of Mounted Posses) is excited to have this information and training to take back to our sheriffs so that each county has a better understanding in cooperative efforts in preparing animals and owners for disasters. With representatives from all counties in Oregon, we are now better equipped to handle large evacuations of animals of all shapes and sizes. This training was a wonderful opportunity to help teach everyone to work together to reach the same goal, No Animals Left Behind! Thank you RDPC for putting on this training for us!
